I never enjoyed how dry and emotionless it seemed to me, the page layouts were a turn off, and I've never really been a big fan of either Gibbons or Moore. I know I'm aminority but I read the series once and have never read it again.

: I was always told by Ultimates-naysayers that
: Watchmen is so much better. I was even told
: by Kurt Busiek to read Watchmen when he
: found out how big a fan of the Ultimates I
: was.
:
: So has anybody read Watchmen?
:
: What turns me off is the following: - The
: coloring.
: - The costumes.
: - Most older comics lack realism that some
: of the comics today have.
:
: Being a person who loves the Ultimates,
: Supreme Power, Rising Stars, Superman:
: Secret Identity, etc., would something like
: Watchmen appeal to me?
