Posted by seeker on 5/17/2007, 2:11 am, in reply to "A Dissapointment With Ultimates" One is the story was alright and rapped things up nicely along with great art. The other category is the whole thing felt rushed and while an okay story, did not live up to the hype. Several reasons attributed to this was the force battle, lack of resolutions and answers to questions on many subjects, and given each character only a few panels for conclusion. Tell me, was there a point to the Asgard attacks, or was it just meant to give Hitch something pretty to draw? One complain I have heard is the plot hole of one moment Thor's hammer doesn't hurt Loki while at the end it is precisely that (or calling upon the power of Odin) that does. --Previous Message--

many of the thoughts I have read seem to either lump it into one of two categories.
: The issue was pretty damn good. I
: intentionally didn't reread the previous
: issues in hopes that I could prove a point
: but I proved one I didn't want to. The
: story was easy to follow and the art was as
: good as any in the series. I'm still not
: the biggest fan of Hitch's but he delivers
: the goods here. And Millar's story is as
: good as anything else of his I've read. I
: tend not to reread them like I do other
: series but in the moment they are big
: explosive fun. So I was disappointed how
: much I liked this and the way Millar left
: the toys for Loeb to play with. I still
: won't read anything else on the strength of
: Hitch and Millar's names alone (I don't want
: massive delays unless the story excites me
: more than Ultimates did) but I'm happy I
: bought this issue despite my frustrations.
