I know the last issue features Loki as the major villain and he is being blamed for everything, but is he really the major villain?
Cause the Black Widow to turn traitor?
Create the science behind the Liberators?
Create the atmosphere of hatred that led to the invasion?
Cause Hank Pym to be kicked off the team?
Leak the truth about the Hulk?
Plant the seeds of doubt about Thor's identity?
From what little we can tell Loki escaped while all of this was already in progress. If you remember, in Ultimates 1 before Loki escaped Dr. Banner already claimed to know certain things about Thor's past. It also sounds like the Liberators were already coming together. The most Loki seems to have done is dealt with Thor by altering reality to confirm many of the suspcians and sketchy details about Thor due to some long-standing grudge and a desire to see Worl War III without Thor interfering. (As if he could have anyway.) For the most part Loki seems to have just been standing around strutting.
