She's constantly thrown into the role of a victim (Norman Osborn abducted her, Peter's clone abducted and physically altered her, Harry Osborn tried to kill her) and has become weaker, not stronger, from her trials. Case in point -- in the early issues of USM she cared for Peter's wounds and helped him get medical attention after he got shot -- but now she can't stand the sight of blood and doesn't want to know the ugly details of Spider-Man's life. That's actually why I prefer Kitty -- because when you strip away the surface shine of her being a super-powered celebrity X-Man, at her core she's someone who's strong enough to deal with the horrors of a super-powered world and defend people even when she's angry with them.

: Yeah, I'd rather see Peter with Kitty than MJ
: too. Maybe MJ's PTSD will open the door for
: Kitty...
:
I actually think MJ will start seeing a certain psychiatrist named Miles Warren (since Aunt May is currently dating him and may helpfully recommend him to MJ) This'll be more bad news for MJ considering what Miles Warren's hypnotic suggestions did to a certain Harry Osborn and considering that MJ may revert to Demogoblin soon.
