(1) Modern day retake: This is where characters are introduced in the modern world where most readers can related to them better.
(2) Realistic view: This is where we realize that no one is perfect, and that there is a large gray area between good and evil.
(3) Fresh and different origins: This is where writers find it okay to tweak the origins of the characters.
