What the American public has failed to realize (and our wimpy leaders are too scared to tell us) is that we ARE going to be paying the price to undo this economic crash, whether we like it or not. And that is exactly as it should be. After all, owning a country (as we do in a democracy) is just like owning a business. When it does well, you live like kings. But when it fails, you dip into your wallet and pay whatever it takes to put the thing back in the black.
Disasters are always expensive to repair. Whether it's a hurricane, an earthquake, or an economic disaster, rebuilding always comes with a hefty price tag. And the ones to foot the bill are the residents, the taxpayers. It has to be that way. So, no need to fret about this current state of affairs...Just face up to it and get ready for the pain. For such is the way of the world.
You and I and our fellow Americans had a fine ol' time reaping the fruits of the economic boom of the post-war era. We put lots of money into our bank accounts, assets and investments -- just like the officers and stockholders of a successful corporation might. We enjoyed big homes, fancy clothes, exotic vacations. But now we are caught up in a major reversal and, like the owners of any other kind of entity that's in trouble, we are about to pay the piper --- in a big way!. Our American Dream lifestyle we've been enjoying is GONE...BYE BYE. It's now time to dig in and prepare for the American Nightmare lifestyle: high taxes, lots of inflation, disappearing investments, and mounting unemployment.
But don't blame Obama. He didn't cause the disaster---we did. He is simply trying to deal with the ruinous aftermath using a tried and true economic model. So, quit complaining about the growing national debt, folks. It had to be. It is simply the price you and I (and the generations to come) will be expected to pay to rebuild after the disaster.
Nothing comes free--even though we all spent the last fifty years pretending that our lifestyle did. Then we woke up... (or not. Apparently, a lot of us are still comotose to the reality that we may be facing.)
