Hi. I just wanted to let you know that we are still around. And we are watching the Obama/Clinton/McCain race with eager curiosity.
For my part, I am lukewarm on each of them. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give them each about a 7. That being said, I am also willing to give the winner, whoever it winds up being, a chance to prove him or herself as President.
Obama is inspirational, but too liberal and too aloof. Hillary seems like a good leader, but is a political chameleon. McCain is a work-across-the-aisle moderate, like myself, but too stubborn to admit that he might be wrong in his continuing support for the Iraq invasion. It is also unclear whether he will embrace the Neocons' vision of a U.S. dominated world, or distance himself from it. And he is annoying to listen to! How many times in one speech can you refer to everyone as "my friends" before it becomes as phony as a three dollar bill?
Anyway...I am open to whatever the outcome. I still would have liked to have had Biden. Paul is a good and decent man with some interesting ideas. And Huckabee is as likeable as they come. But, with so much water under the bridge, we'll just have to wait and see who emerges in the months ahead as the best bet for President.
Feel free to post your ideas. Not many of us will read them, but....what da hey!
Have a fun spring!
