Posted by Rebecca Collins on 7/18/2007, 1:29 pm, in reply to "NEED SOMEONE TO LEASE MY TWO GELDINGS IN AUSTIN TEXAS" Our horses stay turned out almost all the time. In summer, they come in to their stalls twice a day to be fed and checked. If we have one of those bad Texas thunderstorms, I will also bring them in. We can keep horses inside if the owner prefers. In the winter, they are turned out except for cold, rainy days. I keep them in the barn if it's really cold, and do the blanketing myself. If you check the streaming video on the web site I listed, I am the person speaking about the Equestrian facility. That was made about two years ago, and things have only gotten better. Please let me know if you are still looking for a suitable place for your horses. If you think this may work, I will be happy to meet you at the barn to talk about it further. I am looking for a lease in which I would pay for ferrier, worming, food and board. It would be great if you had tack that fit your horses that I might also use while under lease. Our barn has an enclosed, locked tack room. --Previous Message--

I may be interested in leasing your two geldings. I am an adult dressage rider, beginning my dressage training about 7 years ago. Having only begun riding after I retired, I am looking to accellerate my learning curve by riding more. I currently own two horses, a 21 yo Appendix mare (owned since 2000). She is an ex-event horse and trained to first level dressage. She has very big and lofty strides, so I am used to big movement. My second is a 13 yo TB gelding that I bought a little over a year ago. He's not quite the mover, but is trained to second level. He is 16.3, and my mare is 16hh. My husband and I own property at a gaited community in Horseshoe Bay, NW of Austin - about 45 minutes. The community is called The Trails of Lake LBJ. (www.trailsoflakelbj.com) You can take a look at the development and the facility. I oversee the barn functions and have for about two years when I first brought my horse to the barn. We have board fencing with lots of pasture. There are 12 stalls in the barn. We currently have only four horses there, as you must be a property owner to board your horse. I work with a trainer in Marble Falls. She either comes to our barn, or, if it's too wet at our place, I trailer to her. I have trainer references, vet references, personal and ferrier as well.
