I am 21 weeks pregnant with fraternal twins. I have a healthy 2 year old daughter at home. I have been married for 3 years now. I am 26 years old. My AFP test was negative for down sydrome just like it was for my daughter. I had to get a level 2 ultrasound done because I am expecting twins. On that ultrasound the doctor found one marker near the heart that could either mean an extra calcium deposit or a 1% chance of down sydrome in the one baby. The other baby they found nothing wrong. So, an amino is the only way to know for sure if the one baby has this or not. The doctor told us the risks with an amino are greater with twins. I would like to know but if something went wrong I could never forgive myself. Plus, I would not terminate the one baby either. Does anyone else agree or have a similar story to share? Please email me with your commets. Shelfreeze@aol.com Thanks, Michele
