Posted by Debra I need your ideas/examples/input and I really need them quickly. I will be going to San Francisco on September 6 to participate at a That All May Worship day-long conference. The guest speakers will be Joni Eareckson Tada and Ginny Thornburgh with The National Organization On Disability. Northern California has been a very difficult region for inclusion of all in Houses of Worship. The gay community has done a much better job than us! So this one request for your prayers for the Lord Jesus to blow open the doors of Christian Churches to include all in their congregations. Why contact you? Who better. Yes I may lead a disability outreach but I also attend a large church that has the financial resources to make our church physically accessible with ease. I know that this is not the norm for most churches. I need the input of typical and small churches who have offered random and sometimes intentional acts of kindness to welcome and include people affected by disabilities into their churches. If you could send me ideas or tangible ways which your churches have done something kind to another, please send them to me. I am creating a list of ideas to offer the folks coming to my workshop at this conference. It is titled "How to welcome families affected by disabilities into your church." Your ideas and examples may be what it takes to encourage another to say "we can do that." Will you help me? If you cannot help me but know of someone who can ,please send them a copy of this email. Or if you have heard what another church has done, I'll take that information too.The more ideas we get, the better the list. I will them publish this list on our website on our page called Helpful Hints under the Tools 2 Share pages.Tools 2 Share If you are a parent and have Been There, maybe you can visit our page and give us other ideas. Been There If you are an Ohio church, maybe join our email list YGroups:OhioChristianDisabilityConnections Thank you for your time and may God richly bless you for your works towards The Great Banquet! mailto: Bridge Builders

Trying to get a practical list of ideas on how your church helped people affected by disabilities.
Dear friend,
I am the director of a Christian disability outreach called Bridge Builders in Columbus Ohio with the Vineyard Church of Columbus. I am also the message board owner of several boards setup to connect like minded folks like us. This is how I have your address.
