Hi I am Tina..mom to 6 children...ranging in age from 16 down to 6 months..it is actually our 4th daughter, Stevie-Marie..soon to be 8 years old that has Ds, and I wrote this poem for/about her.. God bless!!! Tina
Dear Lord,
And mean no disrespect.
But God when you created me,
There's one thing missing.. d'ya forget??
Nearly 30..matter of fact.
Before I realized I was missing
Something special in my 'pack'...
Well, of course you already knew.
There came into our happy home,
An angel, sent by you.
"There's something that you need to know.
This baby that you waited for,
Is not o.k. it seems.
You see, she has an extra part.
In what we call her 'genes'."
She called it an. 'abnormality'?
Which did not take so long,
I had a question, of my own.
Didn't she say there's something wrong??
Of this, I am quite sure.
Just listen to me very close and
I will tell you more..
Upon her tiny face.
And when she looks upon me,
I can feel Your tender Grace.
And to this day I ask you Lord,
As she sits upon my knee.
How could you forget to put..
That extra part in me???
