story/poem about Down's Syndrome

I have a friend who just had a daughter born with Down's syndrome. My mother said that she had read a story/poem a few years ago about a child with Down's syndrome and the awesome responsibility spiritually that the parents now have because of this blessed child that they were sent. If someone has a copy of this could you please send it to me or any thing similar. I would really appreciate it!!!
