Never had it myself Karmie I'm pleased to say but I know plenty of people that have. I think you get six weeks off and you're laid up certainly for two to three weeks having to move about fairly slowly, and you lose a bit of weight!
You're lucky though in the States coz I expect your hospitals are OK. In England the main fear is that you come out with a lot more wrong with you than you went in with. The main problem my friend who had a hysterectomy experienced was that she came out of hospital with a ghastly norivirus or something. Once she'd recovered from that everything else was quite mundane in comparison. Anyway I'm sure you'll be fine. You'll be able to use the time you're convalescing to catch up on daytime TV and listen to some Donny records.
