Obviously I agree with everyone about the quality of this album, it probably is Don's best album as it covers most of the best songs from the early albums played without any unneccasary backing!
PersonallyI have always been fond of the version of Great Big Man on here, the sound and rythm produced by just Don and his guitar on that song has always amazed me, also Winter Has Me In It's Grip benefits from being stripped down to just guitar in my humble oppinion.
Like you Jester, I was never able to experience a "solo" Don concert and I do wish that maybe Don Would do maybe just a few shows like this but I know it's never going to happen, but as you said the recent concerts are still good value and at least there are still a few solo slots, the last tour we were treated to Empty Chairs and Tapestry solo so that with the band backing is not a bad mixture!
