Like Tom I've been crying, waiting, hoping (lapses into Buddy Holly song) that that recording of my first Donny concert would surface. I always felt that someone, somewhere out there must have it. Praise be for Brian! It's just a shame though that they cut out most of the banjo and Don's witty repartee.
One other recording I'd almost kill to have, is the BBC TV recording of Don in a studio concert which went out in July 1972 where he did "And Her Mother Came Too" and a rather bawdy rugby song among and a very suggestive version of "Where Were You Baby" his more regular songs. Oh and the Christmas 1978 "Don McLean And Friends". OK that's two. Like Emily and the Melody Maker reporter I can't count.
