The only way to know is to try her, I know that may sound harsh but that is the only way to test her "mettle". Do you have anyone around that you could go hunting with? We had a rescue that had never seen a hog and she was not afraid and would not back down when we took her out, the hog worked her over good but she never backed down. She was always ready to go when we went out. We did not know her parentage or her age but she did hunt.
