Hey all, first post here. I recently adopted a female dogo. I was able to track the dog to her breeder, AZ Dogos out of Mesa, AZ. I was able to confirm the sire as Zato del Don Ata and the dam was Emperess Jazzlin from Legend Dogos. The dog is spayed, so I'm not trying to breed her. I'm just wanting to confirm the ancestry. She's a great dog, I'm just trying to assess the parents before I take her out to hunt and reasonably determine whether she'll cur when the moment arises. She's a bit on the small size at 74 pounds and she acts unconfident in certain (non-hostile) situations while she acts every bit of a dogo during possibly dangerous situations. If she's only going to be pet worthy, I'm ok with that. I don't want to take her out in the field in southern Texas where I live only to be torn up by hog. If she remains a pet, I'll be good with it as she's great as a pet, but I'd like to get into it with these horse sized hogs down here and traditional hog hunting with dogos is right up my alley.
If she proves successful, I'll be more game to use rescued dogos for what they were meant for without worrying about the high cost of a full blown purebred from a breeder.
