I have a question for the breeders or people who have litters once a year for what ever reason..... when u have a litter how do you know which dog will turn out tobe what? Structure function etc... I've always Heard breeders keep the best dogs close how can u tell who is the best at 12 weeks of age (that date most pups are sold to new owner) or u deem a pup pet quality show quaility hunter etc....... or a hunter calls u and says I need some fire my top dog got killed by a boar how do you know wat 2 send? ( we all know environment plays a big roll but let's say the dog is raised in the correct environment ) which dog will work? How can u see the right structure/hunt drive @ that age? Culling.......... I hear this word used on different message boards alot "cull cull cull and cull more to preserve the breed" " I once had a litter I culled them all" these are things I've read and I personally don't see how its possible to do such a thing unless u knew what the dog would be once it comes of age.... are there special test u preform? Better yet if u were picking a new pup for what ever reason besides being a pet (yes I know the blood line is important) but how do u know which one out of that litter 2 take home........
