Just want to say thanks to all the hunters here for sharing their experiences and their knowledge. I really appreciate it! I have never been on a hunt with Dogos so I soak up everything you write here like a sponge.
Once in a while I visit European Dogo Argentino forums or the growing Dogo facebook 'community'. It really hurts to hear Dogo owners say things like 'my Dogo doesnīt have more hunting drive than my Great Dane', 'Dogos donīt need hunting drive anymore because the hunt isnīt allowed here in Europe anyway' or 'a male Dogo needs to weigh minimum 60 kilos (133 lbs).'
Makes me wonder where this breed that I love so much is headed to on this continent.
Then it is good to see people like Cathy, Marcelo and Aaron (to name just a few) do some kind of 'educational work' to explain how a true Dogo should be. I donīt believe this will stop the puppy millers, be it in the U.S.A. or elsewhere in the world. But it gives you the feeling that you are not alone thinking that the real Dogo Argentino as it was once was created needs to be preserved.
