In the interview that was aired on HBO before the fight, Sergio practically ruled out the possibility of fighting in the SMW, although he said "never say never".
James Kirkland is a LMW, so that would make sense although I still think that a boxer who is as dominant as Martinez should unify the titles in his weight class. The man is 37, at this point of his career he should either go for the big money fights or the fights that boost his legacy.
