another breed destroyed by(most likely)the americanization and that need for what LOOKS good(isn't that relative?
)regardless of the{neglect} working ability,or the breed's original purpose.A picture of the BULLDOG and the Great Dane(Before they metamorphosized
would be interesting,also.
When I first got into "working" dogs,I was confused/perplexed by the Imports-which looked very different from the americanized versions of the same breed.But when I saw how much better these imports worked in comparison to the americanized version-I understood.
The americanized -oversized Rottweilers,German Shepherds,Malinois' etc etc.the ones which were handicapped by their new "standards"(lack of a better word)and the NEED for something OTHER than the purpose for which they were created
What's next.... the Dogo?
NAH that could never happen-What-with an american(philosophy)organization dedicated to the preservation of the breed in it"s original form(

Sad stuff.
I am glad that there is still an avenue through which people who,TRULY,care about this breed(and who are not MOTIVATED by the $$$ that can be made off of it)Will still have an avenue through which to get A REAL DOGO ARGENTINO.
Thanks to the(FEWER) people who are still dedicated to working the breed,and not by making money off of it.
