NO NO this is wrong.
This breeder HAS dogos they could have referenced and they did NOT. I won't lie I even baited them a bit with a dog of theirs that has some recognition...nope...they are looking for something. They mentioned lots of GOOD dogos and made sure to say so...by special they meant ideal the "that's it" type that the original purpose and standard meant.
Are we suggesting "form be dammed" as long as they work?? How would that be different from the show breeder who says "function be dammed"???
Don't derail my honest quest for knowledgeable input. If you think you have a special dog due to function that is great, did that dog also meet the original standard? Could he/she be improved how, why, where?
This breeder did NOT say they had it...and they are by some rights a breeder who could have. They did not puff up and in my mind demonstrated humility.
I'm not seeking out a puppy, I have two great dogos now, one in hand from Juan and Isabelle! ; )
There was a physical standard created and intended it shouldn't be politically incorrect to discuss and ask about.
I'm trying to learn here.
Thanks Cathy.
