I would not consider the 100lb Dogos to be small, they are at the Top of the standard. I have one Dogo that is above the Original standard. Out of 13 thats not bad.
Though I agree that most people grow less and less concerned with what the creators intended. I would just encourage you to meet the Dogos from the kennels you are interested in. Where are you located?
