In case you don't know who Cass Sunstein is....he has written a book on animal rights and you can read all about his views, including his thoughts that animals should be able to sue human beings and his anti-hunting sentiments. Here is a link to that book:
http://www.oup.com/us/catalog/general/subject/Politics/AmericanPolitics/ScienceTechnologyEnvironmentalPo/?view=usa&ci=9780195305104
He has a whole lot of animal rights activists supporting his nomination and claiming he really isn't an animal rights activist.
Here is a link to an ARA's blog where he is called an "animal rights defender" instead of an animial rights activist: http://animalrights.about.com/b/2009/07/01/animal-protection-views-hold-up-nomination-of-cass-sunstein.htm Doris isn't happy with Mr. Sunstein because he doesn't go far enough in animal and environmental protection.
Cass Sunstein has actually said “We ought to ban hunting, I suggest, if there isn’t a purpose other than sport and fun. That should be against the law. It’s time now.”
Here are some more articles on Cass Sunstein:
http://www.opposingviews.com/articles/opinion-cass-sunstein-has-secret-animal-rights-agenda
http://www.consumerfreedom.com/pressRelease_detail.cfm/release/249
This guy has made no secret that his agenda is for us all to be non-hunting vegitarians whose pets can sue us for not treating them properly. I can only imagine PETA and HSUS are giddy with excitment in anticipation of this guy getting confirmed for his nomination by the Senate....then they can push all their agendas through.
