Like I told Amy, keep the dog at full rest in a shadowy spot. Doze him in cold water and give him water to drink, but don't overdo the latter; drinking has to be slow and continuous but don overload the stomach with a lot of water in a short time. Making him lie in cold mud is great when you find it (we saved Morocho once with cold mud in a shadowy area). Ideally, drinking isotonic solutions is better than water, but people normally don't carry them. Same goes for some isotonic IV fluids; they will chill the dog from the inside and will reach every capillary. Pops suggestion of an enema is a good one, also. The only problem with it is that the effect is limited since, unlike humans, you cannot ask a dog to "retain" the enema for a few mminutes, so the coolness trasmits to the intestines and blood vessels....
