Russians are runners and fighters. Feral are fighters, but usually slower, and sometimes they won't even try to run. You might want to add quick dogs if you are hunting pure russian boar in open country.
As how many dogs, you don't measure how many dogs you need per lb of hog. A 200 lb, dogged and wicked hog can wreck a whole pack while a 400 monster might put little resistance. Like my one of my New Zealand mates likes to put it..."It aint the size of the boar in the fight, its the size of the fight in the boar!!"
