The Biltmore house is a huge attraction here. I've been through Spruce Pine, and know a few people there.
NC is a pretty nice place to live...the state taxes are a bit high...
I like the idea of living on a lake....it must be really nice. I'm in very rural area back in the Smoky mountains bear TN...the other side of out county is in the Blue Ridge.
The closest town has a population of about 800...and the county 20000.
It's a far cry from Queens by a longshot. I spent 22 years in rural Indiana on a job transfer from NY....had a small farm and kinda got used to this lifestyle...and transfered here to western NC on another transfer 11 years ago, and retired here.
