Good duty, being an eraser monitor.
Got you outside on good weather afternoons, and, since they were right there, the thing was to clap the erasers, not against each other, but INTO the stickball strike boxes on the school's wall.

Boys are playing stickball
The chicks are walking by
Something bout their sweaters
Made you play a little better
Or at least you'd try"
For me, though, most of the sidewalk markings were made with coal.
