Actually there's a movement nationwide that's taking hold here in Saratoga. We're lucky enough to have a "downtown" where many stores are owned by local people who are there to meet and serve customers. Even if it costs a bit more, I love shopping there because it brings back the "neighborliness" of the old days and creates a sense of community.
