On Jan 10th, I was mildly T-boned in the front wheel area of my 96 Ford Ranger. It may not look bad but to repair that wheel assembly, door and fender was $4000, not including paint. The parts would come from a junk yard due to age of it. About 1000 miles ago I replaced all 4 tires, had the brake lines replaced due to rusting and repaired the A/C unit to the tune of $2000. She was in tip -top shape and a very dependable vehicle. Then this happened. That front wheel was actually bent at an angle from impact.
SOooooo! The book value was $2700. The other guys company settled for 85% and totaled the truck. I decided to sell the vehicle for salvage due to the high cost of repairs and really not knowing how it would be on the road after wards. Sooooo, I had to bid farewell to a faithful partner for 13 years. It NEVER left me high & dry. Sad to see it go!!
