Did anyone watch The Priests on PBS? It was really quite lovely - a trio of Irish priests who are also biological brothers, who sang sacred as well as secular music at St. Patrick's (probably Saint Padraic's) Cathedral in Armagh, Northern Ireland. As guest artists they had a woman harpist who also sang, a man who played all sorts of pipes, and James Galway, the noted flautist.
The music ran the gamut from "Panis Angelicus" (surprisingly, I remembered a lot of the words - in Latin, yet!!) to - of all things - "Funiculi, Funicula" (remembered that, too!).
I'm sure it will be repeated, and it's worth watchng.
Also VERY worth watching - "Three Mo' Divas" - three vastly talented ladies with big voices, enormous talent, and boundless enthusiasm, who sang everything from traditional music of the black churches, to blues, jazz, torch songs, you name it. While I might not necessarily go in search of a CD of The Priests, I will most definitey find a Three Mo' Divas CD!
