Overcast here in NE Flarrider this morning - thunderboomers will arrive in the not too distant future. It's humid, but the cloud cover is keeping the temps down somewhat - so it's not a bad trade-off.
A bit of a rant - I went to the local Garden Ridge store yesterday - for those who aren't familiar, it USED to be a jinormous craft and home dec store that I could wander for hours - but alas, no mo' - over the past couple of trips there I've noticed the craft and home dec items disappearing, and more and more "Big Lots" kinds of merchandise and inexpensive furniture being moved in ... and I was NOT a happy camper. Yesterday's trip finalized my "divorce" from Garden Ridge ... they were moving in aisle after aisle worth of HALLOWE'EN and THANKSGIVING decor ... in the middle of JUNE for cryin' out loud!! Hallowe'en isn't for another 4 and a half months! From what I saw it was nice quality stuff ... but c'mon, people!! It's JUNE!! I voiced my displeasure to a member of the "management team" in no uncertain terms, and she agreed that the parent company is changing the direction the stores are going, and not in a good way. I told her that it was obvious to others as well, because before on weekends the parking lot would be packed, and it was almost empty - and she agreed ... but at the end of the day, she can't do anything either - except listen to me vent, bless her. I told her I'm done with the store - back to Michael's and JoAnne's for me - and even though it's inconvenient I'd be shlepping across town to the floral wholesalers again when the need arises. Pumpkins in June ... GIMME A BREAK!!
Rant over.
I put a pot roast in the crock pot early this AM - it will cook all day and I can ignore it. LOL Dinner by benevolent neglect - the BEST kind sometimes!
