I didn't take Botany either - and by the time I got to Newtown, Miss Bass was older than dirt and taught only one section of Botany a day. The rest of the day she spent in the Attendance Office issuing admit slips for absences, and late slips, and all that good stuff. One of my friends was in the class, and she called it "Botany-Monotony", and she swore up and down that Miss Bass's notes were so old and yellowed that they had to be the same ones she used when our mothers went there 30-plus years before. Me - I took Biology and Chemistry and all that good mess. I had a GOOD time at Newtown - topnotch teachers, topnotch education.
The toy store next to my office is going out of business 
, and they're selling off fixtures as they empty them - so we bought a BIG ol' heavy bookcase for next to nothing ... we NEED it. LOL
