I just finished cruising the old neighborhood - at least for tonight - I "walked" down Hampton Street - looks to me like they built ABOVE the PS 89 schoolyard - if you look through the gate you can see all the way to Gleane Street - so apparently they more or less "left" the actual schoolyard and put the addition above it.
I need to have SERIOUS words with whoever painted the stoop on my old house - those are perfectly wonderful granite steps, and someone PAINTED them! SHEESH!
Tomorrow during my lunch time - more "touring" of the old 'hood - I want to "walk" down Whitney Ave. to St. Bart's, and then go over to Newtown ... across the railroad trestle and all that ... and have a look around.
Da Spouse is enjoying seeing it all - when we've gone to NY we've kind of whizzed by on our way into the City and not gotten off the main drags ... so alls he ever got was "we kind of lived over there", and of course he has seen bazillions of photos - but taking a "walking tour" gave him a much better feel for the place.
I betcha tomorrow I get a similar "tour" of Carrolton and Farmers Branch! LOL
