six; Once again, your bias spews forth! If it weren't for the Unions, people would STILL be working for two bits an hour and no benefits.
Back in the early sixties, our congress under the guise of "helping" third World countries ENCOURAGED U.S manufacturers to move their plants to foreign countries, some times with a great deal of government subsidies.
The primary reasons for Unions was due to the fact that MANAGEMENT treated workers like dogs, paid them very little wages and little if any benefits.
For the very first pleas for a government, (read taxpayer) bailout, the Big Three MANAGEMENT flew to DC in just one of their fleet of seven private jets.
You and people like you can blame the UNIONS all you want, but the bottom line, (not only with the auto industry, wall street industry and mortgage industry) was pure and simple greed and stupidity. As one person put it, "you can't fix stupid", but the Dems keep trying.
But, not to worry, your Messiah will fix everything for everybody and it won't cost any one anything. ROTFLMAO
