Tonight, we’ll have complete coverage of last night’s
presidential debate. Who won and who lost? Did the candidates
offer real policy solutions to the problems facing this country
or just churn out the same shallow platitudes and slimy attacks
that American voters have come to expect from their “leaders.”
Join us for a complete recap. Plus:
Senators McCain and Obama have both made lofty promises when it
comes to how they would run the country – Tax breaks! Better
and more affordable healthcare! And more! – but the country is
broke. Are the candidates making promises they simply won’t be
able to keep?
* California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is calling top
state legislative leaders back to the state capital today to
discuss the state’s mounting financial crisis. Is California’s
budget crisis the result of years of mishandling? We’ll take a
close look at California’s budget trends over the last 20
years.
* The state of our economy has many Americans, young and old,
concerned about their retirement savings. Americans working in
the private sector have much more to worry about than people
working for the government. Private retirement plans have been
hit hard by the fall in the stock market. We’ll look at the
state of retirement plans in this country and why Americans
with government funded and guaranteed pension plans will fare
much better than those working for private companies.
* City and state revenue sources are drying up across the
country. Is this a result of irresponsible spending? And what
sacrifices are states making during this economic turmoil?
