: I am curious to hear feed back on this flick?
: Of course, The costumes are splendid.
: Why is it that the illness of Schizophrenia
: seems to invoke everyones fantasies?
: If even encourage great costumes as the idea
: of Alice in Wonderland gone into the

: Makes you want to proclaim?
: "Stop using my illness for your own sick
: fantasy"!
: sheesh,
: eventhough, it is an interesting movie.
: Based on the childhood of this character?
: Why does a sick childhood and schizophrenia
: have to be linked as if being tortured
: were not enough to inspire thee bleak!

:
..first of all susan -- i would like to strongly
recommend your attention to writings by the late
french philosopher gilles deleuze in conjunction
with the late psycho-analyst felix guattari in
regards to the deconstruction of schizophrenia
from the cultural bias attributed to this often
cited 'mental disorder'...
by schizophrenia: as deconstructed by deleuze and
guattari in their writings -- schizophrenia truly
represents a perspective of viewing consentual
reality in ways and manners which had led to far
reaching creativity that has led to dramatic
cultural changes --- what deleuze and guattari
refers as 'territorialising': we are constantly
creating mental reconstructions of our reality
to maneuver successful through the vast tumble
tunnels of events and occurences which beseige
us on an every moment level..... for hollywood:
to accentuate this schizophrenia character as
the tortured individual led through impossible
mental landscapes as portrayed in the overhyped
and 'the matrix'esque 'the cell' (...not a j-lo
fan in the least... ) lends to the overall story
tension:
a 'disorder' and to really have the audience
'feel' what it feels like to be an individual
unable to judge 'true' reality remains a tool of
plot to bring the audience into the character's
mindset and therefore reducing the distance that
exist between audience and film.... while on the
superiorly krafted and scripted 'the matrix': the
character of neo seems 'sane' but has been shown
to have searched for the character morpheus in
the movie because neo feels there exists another
realm another world underlying the s0-called
'real world' that continues to enslave us in
illusions and falsehoods...
creates an 'afflicted' charactered tormented
by a 'disorder' whereas neo in 'the matrix'
represents a character driven not by a 'disorder'
but a blindness that consumes many trapped within
the blind alleys and blind corners of this reality matrix of illusions and deception....
character of neo represents a character who wants
to be awake and therefore wants to claim his own
sense of awareness and potential susan.
