........yep, it's finally warming up around here & I'm ready to do my 2 favorite activities during the summer. That is......water hunting & water skiing.
Since I had the day off......it was time to get the ol' toy ready for the water. I usually get her out 1st, before taking family & friends so I can be sure she'll run OK. I finally got her started while on the trailer & below shows her ready to get wet:
While we are getting her wet, I'd like to show you some shots of my 200+ year old hometown along the Ohio River. Below is a picture of the river bridge separating Ky to your left from Ohio to your right. This bridge was built before the Golden Gate and....the Golden was modeled after this one:
Below is a closer up of my hometown. Notice those 3 huge concrete ice breakers in the river. They were put there around 1900 to help break up the ice that jammed the wharf on the other side of it. Steamboats stopped there often & this allowed that to continue during wintertime. Hmmm, I can only imagine the bottles thrown overboard around those:
During the early 1920's, these homes were the "premiere" home of their day. Today, they are homes with a great view but those "rich" dudes moved a few miles south of here to larger homes. The home on the right with the 4 large white pillers gave up some really neat silver to me a few years ago.
Below is our "newest" cable swaying bridge crossing the Ohio River, finished 3-4 years ago. That bridge is actually 2 miles downstream from where this pic was taken. I didn't feel like going down that far today:
All the pics you've seen till now was taken looking westward. This one is looking eastward:
Ahhh, here we are moving along about 45 mph eastward of the ol' river bridge:

Finally, all fun must come to an end. I really hate to put that rascal on the trailer cuz that means the fun is over for the day. Notice the bridge on the far left in the pic below?? I didn't have far to go for this test ride.

Now it's time to hurry up & get the water warmer so we can get into it...and...use the Tigershark also!
