Right, criticism is not negativity, and Budd deserves criticism. Yes, Budd has to ink and letter in addition to penciling, and I could understand Budd not producing an issue a month. I could accept him not even meeting a bi-monthly schedule, which he was once able to produce. But one book every three months should not be that hard. Instead we're lucky if we get two books a year! That is pretty pathetic. What is the problem with that? I don't know when the next book is coming out and I'm not about to monitor announcements every week year after year waiting for the one or two issues per year. Surely, that's understandable.

: To further whittle down my question, what is
: it that you are hoping for in continuing to
: follow Budd's work? Do you think that Budd
: will "turn the ship around" and
: wrap up PS with a mind-blowing final issue?
:
: Contrariwise; I'd be sorely disappointed, to
: say the least, if he rushed into a
: one-size-fits-all "solution" to
: all the dangling plotlines. I just wish he'd
: stop throwing *more* stuff into the melee
: and go on with the story (er... there *is*
: still a story, I presume).
:
: Would you like it if Budd's art style
: devolved nearly ten years to a point where
: his skills had not developed to the level he
: has reached today?
:
: Personally, I far prefer the way he depicted
: Meriem in Rain, and no one can say she
: lacked va-va-vooms then. I doubt he'll go
: back to that style, but I wouldn't call it
: "devolving"; "coming to his
: senses", maybe? :-)
:
: Budd has been a
: real breath of
: freash air from the mercilessly overplotted
: and overplanned books released by the major
: companies of today.
:
: I fully agree. One of the characteristics
: that hooked me in the origin series and in
: Rain was how the story flowed even when
: focus was shifted from one setting to
: another. And that's what I find lacking in
: PS: plotline after plotline is started just
: to be put aside so that a *new* digression
: can begin.
:
: I trust - I hope - Budd will be able to
: untangle it all (you're keeping a scorecard,
: aren't you, Budd?) in a properly paced,
: coherent way without Deus-ex-machina ploys
: such as used in PS # 9. Damn it, I *want* to
: continue enjoying Cavewoman!
