I should have mentioned in my previous email that William Gillette, the actor, was descended from Jonathan Gillette (whose father, ironically, was named William Gylett). If King Gillette was descended from Jonathan's brother Nathan, that would be the connection. I must confess that I did not trace King Gillette's lineage.
