Yes, if I am not mistaken, there IS a connection between William Gillette the "Sherlock Holmes actor" and King C. Gillette the "razor manufacturer." I am here writing without consulting my files, but, I believe KCG the "razor man" was descended from Nathan Gillette the immigrant who came to Connecticut in 1630. And, if I am not mistaken, William Gillette the "Sherlock Holmes actor" descends either from that same Nathan, or from Nathan's brother Jonathan. I am sure it was from one of those two. Of course the third immigrant brother was Jeremiah, and many American Gillettes are his descendants.
