I just found this site through Google. Just curious as to whether anyone else has tried to research Abiah Pye, Rev. William Gillette's wife.
I received my latest NEHGR yesterday, which included 4 wills (different families). One of those was for a (excuse my poor memory on all details) ? Tyes, who calls Rev. William Gillette (father of Jonathan, Nathan and Jeremiah) "son in law" and William's wife Abiah "daughter in law." Proof of William's wife's name and also proof of Jonathan Gillette's parentage as Jonathan is also mentioned in the will as William's son. A footnote says that Tyes calls Abiah "daughter in law" probably because she was actually his step-daughter ... his wife's daughter by her first marriage (Abiah's father's name unknown). Seems to me that another footnote said that her name (Abiah) has been known for a long time, but this is news to me in a few decades of research.
I haven't checked LDS-IGI for her name, but I did check WorldConnect and a search for her name comes up with nothing, and all entries for Rev. William Gillette have no spouse or spouse unknown.
Curious if anyone else has information on Abiah Pye.
