Just received my 25.4 spec. from SFI. According to Ken Gentry and SFI this will only allow mild steel cars to go 7.50 or slower. They will never have a spec. for mild steel to go quicker than 7.50.
Ken said he believes that the 25.4 spec will be for tube mild steel cars to go 8.49 to 7.50. All other cars, ie. backhalf non-25.1d cars will not be able to go quicker than 8.50 in a few years.
This is not official, just Ken's opinion at this time. Waiting for further clarification myself.
