Sac and Wrecks for the last 2 weekends testing

Can anyone confirm this these numbers? I am getting mixed reports but have been told that there have been 6-8 wrecks over the last 2 Saturday's while Test and Tune.
Are these driver errors or bad track or a Mix? I have heard, as usual, the track has been poorly prepped. Heard it is alright for 12-14 second cars but anything other than that you are on your own.
One comment I heard was that Sac should switch to an 1/8 deal to protect the drivers.
Anyone with info please post
