I've said it once and I'm going to say it again-the final few SD9's and SD18's from the Bessemer SHOULD HAVE GONE TO THE UNION! The SD38-2's could pull good and were newer, but they were way too big. Here's what I think should have happened in 2000- SD9's 830, 844, 845, 847, and SD18's 853-856 come south. Keep the four SD18's on the mainline, two SD9's at the wharf (preferably 844 and 830- 844 had R/C and 830 had the high nose that nobody liked) and 845/847 at Hall as spares for whenever they're needed. 870, 872, 876, 879, and 890 go to the EJ&E, which is where they eventually ended up at anyway.
I always felt the GP15-1 would be a perfect road engine for the URR-small 4 axle loco, 1500 HP it seems perfectly suited for them.
Better yet, they could buy back 568-570, 573 from LTEX.
