I happened to be a block east of the tracks on Swamp Alley in Greenville when I caught a glimpse of her going by, leading two TMs and hoppers north toward The Harbor about a quarter after eight on Thursday night. I hope that wasn't the last time I ever see her move under her own power. My fear is that she seized up something in a traction motor gear case and Woodcrest is possibly on her itinerary, now...
Come to think of it, IF it's a traction gear issue, they'd have to lift that end of the unit, roll out the truck and change out the offending motor right in Conneautville. Now THAT would make a heck of a series of photos of her! I shot just such a series of that operation in the field on a new Conrail B36-7 that had that problem corrected in a grain elevator siding at Edgerton, OH in the late Eighties. All speculation on my part re: #867, but this may make for an interesting Monday for someone with a camera. Keep your ears to the scanner chatter.
