Its hard to tell at times if its a ore or stone train by first glance. For the most part P&C does not hump the stone high above the sides for the cars and from ground level it would be impossible to see the load. Sometimes if your are elevated you will see the top of the stone, and the best way to tell is stone normally hides out on places on the cars. Stone trains normally run from 15-25 cars. They seem to run stone on Sundays and early in the week. At times Stone is added to an ore train and the crew will use Branchton Yard to set off then serve Mercer Lime. So its a crap shoot as to what you saw the other night..... In all just be glad in April 2012 we are still catching B&LE Black and Orange out on the main!
