With the orange/black demarcation line about as far below the Bessemer convention as the line was above it on Eastern Idaho SD45 #3133, Milwaukee #4001 (ex-MILW #7) and #8 (later #4002) also has a "Bessemer '45" feel.

The Milwaukee's SD45s ran through to the East on the Erie Lackawanna in pool service, so they touched B&LE rails at XN Tower at Shenango. I was on a train with them on it waiting at XN. Too bad there weren't some Bessemer '38s sitting nearby to compare and contrast...
As for Todd's thoughts on a B&LE U50, I can picture it. The UP's U50s (at least) were on the Bessemer, from Erie to Shenango, en route to being delivered.
