It wasn't 902 that had a hard time making it back. It was 907 and yes they have AEI tags. In August 1991 the AAR (Association of American Railroads) made AEI tags mandatory for all 1.4 million rail cars in interchange service. This includes locomotives. All interchanged rail cars and locomotives had to have the tags in place by December 31st 1994.
