Was Unity 53 serviced in Greenville? That or URR Hall would be the options for traction motor repairs, or more involved diesel repairs.
Rent, do you know if 53 ever got stored between shifts, or at night in the Unity's 3 bay engine house over by the B&LE's diesel terminal at North Bessemer?
Saxonburg units SX-1 and SX-2 (now ET-4 and ET-5) used to go to Greenville for repairs and inspections. In fact, as of about a year ago, ET 5 still had a Bessemer & Lake Erie Inspection certificate in the cab from 1982.
